Get to know The Pickleball Club at Monroe and what makes our facility exceptional.

Built by Pickleball Enthusiasts for Pickleball Enthusiasts

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States. So why do pickleball players have to share court time with tennis or play on a basketball court when there is enough competition and interest to have an entire facility dedicated solely to the paddle sport? The simple answer: Pickleball players shouldn’t settle!

The Pickleball Club at Monroe began as an idea of Erica & Mike Rosenberg, a space dedicated to providing pickleball players their own space. They have a passion for not only pickleball but also the community. Erica and Mike know the mental and physical health benefits pickleball brings.

As an extremely social sport, pickleball pulls people together, introduces friendship, and keeps players healthy and safely active. For these reasons, the Rosenbergs decided to join Jeff Onuschak—who created and originally built pickleball at the Monroe Sports Center—to expand the current footprint and really put Central Jersey pickleball on the map.

The Pickleball Club at Monroe is conveniently located inside the Monroe Sports Center complex and is open 7 days a week.

Our indoor pickleball club boasts 10 dedicated, fenced-in, regulation-sized pickleball courts, all within a climate-controlled facility. Warm up on our dink wall, conveniently located between our spacious social area with ample seating, and our private party room, perfect for birthday parties, corporate events, and private rentals.

Members and guests enjoy skill-honing clinics, private and group lessons, juniors programs, leagues, tournaments, and open play.

What do our members love the most about The Pickleball Club at Monroe? How about the comfy and modern social areas with plenty of seating to rest and rejuvenate? Or how about our certified, dedicated and knowledgeable staff that provides expert pickleball advice when needed?

Club Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a member?

It’s time to join the best sport in the world (in our opinion)! Contact us today, and we’ll get you all signed up to kick off your pickleball journey in New Jersey.

Why should I become a member? Do I have to be a member?

While membership is not mandatory to enter our facility, it gives players the best chance to get on the court and participate in all of the programs, as many programs fill up quickly. Members can book a private court or program up to 14 days in advance—10 days sooner than guests.

What are the prices of club membership and services?

An annual pickleball club membership is only $100 per year, a fraction of the cost of your typical gym membership.

Guests can access the facility for $5 per program.

For a full list of program pricing, check out our Membership & Pricing page.

What are the policies for guests?

Guests will have the ability to sign up for any program 4 days in advance, assuming there are openings. All guests must complete a waiver and pay a $5 per program fee.

What are the different options I have to pay at the club?

All members will have a club account to pay for everything, and guests can use credit cards and e-checks, as those are the only payment methods through our online reservation system, CourtReserve.

What do I need to bring with me to play?

All we require are court shoes. We recommend you bring a paddle, and a pickleball, but we have paddles to borrow/demo and pickleballs available for purchase.

How do I know what level I am?

Please read about DUPR ratings below, and we encourage you to come to one of our many DUPR sessions to get a rating. In addition, any of our PPR-certified instructors can provide you with an approximate skill level to ensure you join the right program.

Can I have my birthday or private event there?

Of course, we would love to celebrate with you! Our private party room is perfect for passionate pickleball players who want to share the love of sports with their guests and for children, where we play pickleball and various other games.

Do you sell food or drinks? Can I bring my own?

Please bring your own drinks and snacks. There are vending machines available within our pickleball facility.

Are you part of the Monroe Sports Center?

No, we are not part of the Monroe Sports Center, but The Pickleball Club at Monroe is housed inside.

Do you have paddles to demo?

We have a collection of different size, brand, and priced paddles for you to test and eventually purchase through the club.

DUPR Frequently Asked Questions

What is DUPR?

Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating is the most accurate and only global rating system in pickleball. All players, regardless of age, gender, location, or skill, are rated on the same scale between 2.00–8.00 based on their match results.

Who can have a DUPR rating?

DUPR is free, and anyone can have a rating. One match result is all it takes to have a DUPR rating, and 5–10 match results are all it takes to have an even more accurate rating.
If you’ve ever played in a pickleball tournament, you most likely already have a DUPR rating and can claim your account at mydupr.com or by downloading the iOS or Android app.

How is the DUPR rating calculated?

DUPR is a modified Elo algorithm that uses a player’s last 30 (singles) or 60 (doubles) eligible matches. The algorithm considers three factors:

  • Points Won: How many points did you win?
  • Victory: Did you win or lose?
  • Type of Result: Was this a self-posted rec play score, a league match, an unsanctioned tournament, or a sanctioned tournament result?

Why is DUPR better than other pickleball ratings?

Besides being more accurate, DUPR is the only global rating system in pickleball that encompasses all of a player’s results and rates all players on the same universal scale regardless of age or gender.

DUPR is also the only system with a Reliability Score (coming soon) that doubly ensures fair play and no “sandbagging.”

How can I get DUPR rated?

We will be running many DUPR events at the club. Keep an eye out and come to as many as you’d like!

Which results go into my DUPR?

All of your results, regardless of event type, location, or software provider, go into your DUPR. If you don’t see your results or would like your club/association to add your results, please email support@mydupr.com.

What if I’m unrated, and I play against rated players?

That’s okay! Those scores will still retroactively count once you or the other players play against someone with a DUPR. This is called “connectivity,” and it’s a beautiful thing.
The more variety of players you play with, the greater the connectivity to the system, and the more accurate your rating gets.

How do I log a match with players who are not DUPR users?

Luckily, it’s easy to invite your partner and opponents to DUPR during the “Add a Match” process. All players must be registered with DUPR for matches to affect ratings on our platform. This is essential to ensure the accuracy and integrity of DUPR ratings.
